Dr. Tasos Belegratis, DDS
Program Director & Founding Member

Dr. Tasos Belegratis is an internationally recognized clinician and educator specializing in advanced surgical dentistry, implantology, and bone regeneration. With extensive postgraduate surgical training and nearly two decades of clinical experience, he has built his career around complex implant and regenerative procedures and helping other dentists develop the skills and confidence to perform them successfully.
Dr. Belegratis has taught advanced surgical techniques to dentists in the United States and internationally and serves as North American Director of Bone Course USA. His clinical and educational work spans implant placement, advanced bone grafting, regenerative procedures, and treatment planning, with an emphasis on translating evidence-based surgical principles into practical, predictable techniques clinicians can bring back to their own practices.
As Program Director and a founding member of the Alpha Institute, Dr. Belegratis brings that same philosophy to each course: rigorous education, meaningful hands-on experience, and highly personalized instruction. His approach is centered on helping clinicians strengthen not only their technical skills, but also the clinical judgment needed to evaluate cases, anticipate challenges, and make confident treatment decisions.
Dr. Alex Cain, DDS

Dr. Alex Cain is a clinician, educator, and researcher with advanced training in surgical dentistry and implantology. A graduate of James Madison University, he began his career at the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research as an Intramural Research Training Awardee, conducting immunological research across multiple disease models and contributing to publications in respected scientific journals.
Dr. Cain earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, where he was selected for the Oral Surgery Clerkship and received focused training in complex extractions, bone grafting, implant placement, and the management of medically complex patients. He continued his postgraduate training at Denver Health, gaining extensive surgical experience while treating dental trauma, infections, and vulnerable patient populations.
Today, Dr. Cain’s clinical practice focuses on third molar removal under IV sedation, implant placement, digital implant planning, and autogenous bone grafting. As a founding member and Clinical Instructor of the Alpha Institute, he brings his research background, surgical expertise, and evidence-based approach to training dentists from across the country to perform surgical procedures safely, efficiently, and with greater confidence.
Dr. Scott Ganz

Pioneer in Digital Dentistry · 40+ Years in Implant Dentistry · International Educator
Dr. Scott Ganz is an internationally recognized prosthodontist, implant dentist, and educator with more than four decades of experience in surgical and restorative implant dentistry. He completed advanced training in Maxillofacial Prosthetics at MD Anderson Cancer Center and UT Dental Branch in Houston and has been at the forefront of implant dentistry and digital treatment planning throughout his career.
A pioneer in the use of digital technology in dentistry, Dr. Ganz is widely recognized for his expertise in CBCT 3-D imaging, interactive treatment planning, digital workflows, photogrammetry, and CAD/CAM applications. He has published more than 150 scientific articles, contributed to 23 professional textbooks, and lectured in more than 40 countries on the surgical and prosthetic phases of implant dentistry.
Dr. Ganz has held leadership roles across numerous professional organizations and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Clean Implant Foundation. He is a Fellow and Surgical Diplomate of the Academy of Osseointegration and has received lifetime achievement recognition for his contributions to implant and digital dentistry. He continues to maintain a private practice focused on prosthodontics, maxillofacial prosthetics, and implant dentistry.
Dr. Adriana Castro Calderón, DDS

Dr. Adriana Castro Calderón is a clinician, educator, and researcher specializing in oral surgery, implantology, endodontics, and restorative dentistry. Her extensive postgraduate training includes advanced degrees in Oral Surgery and Implantology from Universidad Complutense de Madrid and Endodontics from Universitat Internacional de Catalunya, as well as specialized training in oral medicine, periodontology, implantology, and restorative dentistry.
Her clinical approach combines biological principles with digital innovation, incorporating CBCT imaging, 3D intraoral scanning, and customized surgical guides to create precise, predictable, and minimally invasive treatment plans.
Dr. Castro Calderón is a professor at Universidad Rey Juan Carlos and was selected as an ITI Scholar at UNAM in Mexico. She is also an international speaker, published author, and reviewer for the Journal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry and Clinical Implant Dentistry and Related Research. As a Clinical Instructor with the Alpha Institute, she brings an innovative, evidence-based perspective grounded in the intersection of science, technology, and clinical practice.
